Junkers on Mountain Course and Field Training

The second-year Junkers of the training battalion of the National Defense Academy were given field training and summer basic course during the current month.

The FTX included theoretical and practical training in military topography, first aid, principles of radio station operation, and study of individual tasks as determined by the curriculum.

The purpose of the field training is for the Junkers to increase their theoretical and practical experience at the firing group and squad levels, to gain knowledge by studying the principles of communication means, to demonstrate first aid measures, and to familiarize themselves with the basics of topography, as well as to carry out a tactical march.

During the basic summer course, the Junkers were at The Sachkhere Mountain Training School was named after COL Besik Kutateladze. They were given practical training in moving on mountain terrain, rock climbing techniques, river crossing, obstacle courses on rocky terrain, rock descent, and mountain march.
