Closing ceremony of International Week 2016 was held at Davit Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy. Defence Minister of Georgia Tinatin Khidasheli, acting as Rector of NDA, LTC Vasil Kopeikin, Commander of Military Training and Education, Colonel Malkhaz Makaradze, Commander of National Guard, Brigadier General Levan Gamkrelidze and other officials of General Staff attended the event.
Tinatin Khidasheli addressed the participants of the International Week and handed over the special certificates at the end of the event.
“To my mind, it’s very important when National Defence Academy and our educational institutions started sharing education. It’s very important when our country hosts such various events. The representatives from military-educational institutions from 9 countries visited Georgia for a week. They had possibility to improve their knowledge and get more experience. Town Gori gives great opportunity to young military with its geography, function and modern history”, stated Defence Minister.
Davit Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy hosted International Week for the second time. Together with the Georgian cadets, attendees from high military institutions of the USA, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Azerbaijan and Turkey participated in the International Week. They attended the lectures on the Georgian Armed Forces, military challenges and international security issues. Following the lectures they involved in various kinds of cultural and scientific programs. During the International Week the participants visited President’s Palace, Sachkhere Mountain training School and State Military Scientific and Technical Center “Delta”.
