Young European Ambassadors Award Ceremony at the National Defence Academy

Today "Young European Ambassadors" organized the awarding ceremony at the National Defence Academy (NFS), which was opened by the Deputy Rector of the Academy, Mr. Ramaz Kvaratskhelia.

Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, USAID Mission Director (Georgia), Mr. Peter Wibler and Defence Attaché of the United States to Georgia COL, Mr. Jeffrey Hartman addressed the participants and cadets. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia Mr. Zaal Kapanadze. Deputy Head of Quality Assurance Service, Ms. Mariam Darbaidze delivered presentation on National Defence Academy.

Within the framework of the project, participants spent two days at the National Defence Academy where they got acquainted with the rules of life of the cadets and educational programs existing in the academy. Along with the cadets project participants were engaged in various sports and cognitive activities.

At the end of the event, project participant "Young European Ambassadors" were awarded with the relevant certificates and enjoyed military lunches with cadets.

The goal of the project is awareness raising about the importance of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia to the ethnic minorities and introduction of Western values.

Aforementioned project is organized by the Information Center on NATO and EU and the United Nations Association of Georgia (UNAG) Promoting Integration, Tolerance and Awareness (PITA) Program initiated by the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
