Events dedicated to the Day of the Defence Forces of Georgia were held at the Academy
Events dedicated to the Day of the Defence Forces of Georgia were held at the National Defence Academy.
Within the framework of the events, the Rector of the National Defence Academy, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze laid a wreath at the memorial of the heroes who died in the battles for the territorial integrity of Georgia.
After the national anthem and a moment of silence, the personnel of the Academy was congratulated on the Defence Forces Day and addressed by: the Rector of the Academy, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze, the Junker of the Training Battalion Tornike Pichkhnarashvili and the representative of the Examination Center Tamar Vanishvili.
Today, symbolic gifts were given to the wounded military servicemen, four military servicemen were awarded with staff weapons, as well as certificates of honor and departmental medals were awarded to the military servicemen and civilians of the Academy. 26 military servicemen and 26 civilians were awarded a citation by the order of the Rector of the Academy.
After the award ceremony, the event continued at the Gori Youth and Culture Development Center, on the play "David the Builder" presented by the Candidate Course of the Junior Officers Training School. The event ended with a celebration dinner.
