Public lecture at the Academy

The Minister of Justice, Rati Bregadze, together with his deputies, held a public lecture at the National Defense Academy on the topic of the Protection of Georgia's Sovereignty by Legal Ways. The guests were hosted by the Rector of the Academy, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze.

The Minister of Justice and his deputies talked to the Junkers of the National Defence Academy of Georgia about the ongoing disputes against Russia in Strasbourg and The Hague, which ended with decisions of historical significance for Georgia on the cases of the August War.

The Deputy Minister of Justice, Beka Dzamashvili, explained that the confirmation of the occupation of Georgia by the Russian Federation in 2008 by the Strasbourg court, the recognition of the ethnic cleansing of Georgians in the Tskhinvali region; also, establishing Russia's guilt in the case of killing and torturing Georgian prisoners of war, inhumane and degrading treatment of military and civilians is a powerful legal tool for the further de-occupation of our country.

This event was held in connection with the Commemoration of the 14th anniversary of the 2008 Russia-Georgia war.
