103rd Anniversary of the Academy

Graduation ceremony of Baccalaureate and Officer Training Candidate Courses and 103rd anniversary of the Academy were celebrated with a solemn ceremony at Parade ground. 110 lieutenants were added to the Defense Forces of Georgia.

The Minister of Defense of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze, Commander of the Defence Forces, Major General Giorgi Matiashvili and the Rector of the Academy, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze congratulated the lieutenants on the completion of the Academy.

 Along with the rank of lieutenant, the Junkers were awarded bachelor's academic degrees in relevant specialties. At the graduation ceremony, diplomas were awarded to the students of the Baccalaureate, and successful Junkers were awarded with staff weapons.

Within the framework of the event, certificates of honor were also presented to the students and Junkers of the Officer Training Candidate Course who won in various nominations. Nominations were in the following categories: "The best Junker/student in military science"; "The best bachelor thesis" - according to the programs; "The best leader"; "The best shooter"; "The best Junker/student in physical training".

In connection with the 103rd anniversary of the National Defence Academy, representatives of the Academy were awarded with valuable gifts for dedicated and high-quality performance of their duties. Also, the staff members of the Academy received the "Junker" statuette for their special work during the academic year. Honorary gifts - statuettes of "Davit Agmashenebeli" were given to the Minister of Defence and the Commander of the Defence Forces.

For four years, the Junkers were actively involved in the Junker Leader Development Program; The Junkers, together with the students of other higher education institutions, participated in scientific conferences, student days, international and regional exhibitions, various sports events, intellectual games and television projects.

Graduates have completed the Basic Mountain Training Course, were in various units of the Defense Forces of Georgia for the purpose of internship;

They participated in various international exchange programs, including visiting the leading higher military schools of the United States of America, Lithuania, France, Turkey, Hungary, Romania and Latvia.

The lieutenants will undergo basic officer courses according to various military specialties, Lieutenants will undergo basic officer courses in various military accounting specialties; after completion, they will be assigned to the positions of a junior officer of the Defence Forces of Georgia.

The event was attended by the authorities of the Defence Forces of Georgia, representatives of the National Defence Academy and family members of the graduates.
