The Rector of the Academy Hosted Azerbaijani and Turkish Colleagues

The Rector of the National Defence Academy, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze hosted the rectors of military educational institutions of Azerbaijan and Turkey within the trilateral format of Azerbaijan-Turkey-Georgia military academies.

The official opening ceremony of the event was held at the parade ground of the Academy, where together with the leaders of the Academy, the Rector of the Higher Military Institute of Azerbaijan named after Heydar Aliyev, Major-General Fizuli Salahov, Commander of the Military Academy of the Ground Forces of Turkey, Major-General Gultekin Yarali, representative of the Military Academy of the Air Forces of Turkey, Colonel Gokalp Celik, representative of the Turkish Navy Military Academy, Lt. Col. Sedat Agmis and other members of the delegation were present.

Within the framework of the event, the rectors of the military academies of Azerbaijan and Turkey laid a wreath on the memorial of the heroes who died in the battles for the territorial integrity of Georgia.

At the meeting, the Rector of the Academy, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze spoke about the capabilities of the military institution; then the representatives of each country's military schools gave a presentation about the educational and military programs of their academies. Also, issues and directions of current and future cooperation between military institutions were discussed at the meeting.

After the meeting, the guests visited the infrastructure, training laboratories and museum of the National Defence Academy and exchanged commemorative gifts.

Later, the officials attended trilateral sports events, after which rectors of the military academies of Azerbaijan and Turkey awarded the winning teams.

It is worth noting t that the trilateral format further strengthens the partnership of Georgia with two neighboring countries in the field of military education.

It is very important for the Academy to hold workshops in similar cooperation formats from the point of view of sharing foreign experiences. Workshops in similar formats of cooperation are very important for the Academy in terms of sharing foreign experiences.
