 The First Female Junker at Saint-Cyr Coetquidan Special Military School

The Junker of the National Defence Academy - Teona Labadze is the first female Junker who was enrolled in the Saint-Cyr Coetquidan Special Military School in 2022.

Teona Labadze, a third-year Junker of the Training Battalion of the Academy, successfully passed the entrance exam at the Saint-Cyr Special Military School. From September 2022, the Georgian Junker will continue her studies at the prestigious Officer Basic Training School of the French Ground Forces.

"My military life began at the age of 14 when I entered the Cadet Military Lyceum. At that time, I already had the desire to enter the French Academy and started preparing for enrollment in the National Defence Academy. The Military Lyceum and later the Academy helped me with the knowledge and experience gained there. At the end of the second year, I took part in the competition, where I was among 20 candidates from 40 countries,'' says the Junker.

The Junkers of the National Defence Academy: Zurab Manchkashvili, Guram Sefiashvili, and Giorgi Tsintkiladze studied at the Saint-Cyr Special Military School.

The Saint-Cyr Coetquidan Special Military School is a high-level military educational institution. The school provides future Army officers with the fundamental knowledge that will help them carry out their functions properly throughout their careers.

The Junkers of the National Defence Academy continue their studies within the framework of exchange programs at such leading military schools as the US Land Force Academy, US Naval Academy, University of the Bundeswehr Munich, Turkish Land Forces Academy, and Turkish Air Force Academy.
