On May 18 of this year, outdoor military-historical lectures were held in Samtskhe-Javakheti. The following topics were discussed at the outdoor lectures: geopolitics and strategy of ancient and medieval Georgia, history and typology of fortification, ways of capturing and defending fortresses, and the overall history of the southern regions.
As part of outdoor lectures, the first-year Junkers visited: the Akhaltsikhe (Rabati) fortress and museum, the Vardzia Rock-Cut Complex and museum, as well as the fortresses of Tmogvi, Khertvisi, and Slesi. The lectures were conducted in the format of military-historical cognitive discussion and were led by Giorgi Beridze, the lecturer of the Military History of the National Defence Academy. Giorgi Kukchishvili, a member of the Georgian Military History Society, also gave informative lectures to the Junkers.
Conducting similar types of outdoor lectures for the Junkers will continue in the future too.
