Oath Taking Ceremony

For the first time in the history of the Academy, 109 Junkers of the Training Battalion of the LEPL David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia took a military oath on the historical place of Didgori after completing the Basic Combat Training.

The mentioned initiative belongs to the Rector and the leaders of the Academy. This kind of military oath-taking ceremony will become a tradition and will be symbolically connected with the historical victory of the Holy King David IV the Builder - since the National Defence Academy bears the name of Davit Agmashenebeli.

The Junkers underwent a five-week Basic Combat Training Course after joining the National Defence Academy. As part of the theoretical training, they got acquainted with the disciplinary statute. Also, they were given engineering and first aid training. In the practical training component, the Junkers learned the rules of using weapons, shooting and safety. During the Basic Combat Training Course, they had to adapt to difficult physical and psychological conditions. Graduates will continue the educational process in the Academy at the relevant bachelor's programs.

At the oath-taking ceremony, the successful graduates of the Basic Combat Training and the instructors of the Junker Training Battalion were awarded certificates of honor. The chaplain of the Academy, Dean Davit Kasradze blessed the Junkers. Family members of the Junkers also attended the ceremony of military oath-taking.
