The Ambassador of the French Republic, Mr. Olivier Courteau, accompanied by the Deputy Defense Attaché, Lieutenant Colonel Ronan Ascoët, paid an introductory visit to the National Defence Academy. The delegation was hosted by the First Deputy Commander of the Academy, Colonel Imeda Gvritishvili.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the robust cooperation between the National Defence Academy and the French Military Academy, discussing future strategic objectives and upcoming exchange programs. They further highlighted the importance of strengthening and expanding bilateral relations between the two nations' military educational institutions.
Notably, within the framework of the bilateral exchange program, four cadets from the French Military Academy are currently hosted at the NDA. Reciprocally, four Junkers/students from the National Defence Academy of Georgia are scheduled to participate in upcoming field exercises in France.
As part of the visit, Ambassador Olivier Courteau, accompanied by the First Deputy Commander, toured the military history exhibition space of the Academy. To conclude the visit, Colonel Gvritishvili presented the Ambassador with a symbolic gift.
