Training regarding the Gender Equality and UNSCR № 1325, 1820, 1888, 1889 and 1960

Today, was held the training regarding the Gender Equality and United Nations Security Council Resolutions № 1325, 1820, 1888, 1889 and 1960. The participants of the training were the winners of the Gender Advisers’ Election, held by the Gender Equality Monitoring Group of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia.

Above mentioned gender advisers are the partners of the advisers who were already appointed at the different structural units of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia.

The Head of NDA Administration, Mrs. Maia Avaliani and the Head of the International Law Division of the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Giorgi Amanatidze conducted the training for the gender advisers.

At this point there is a gender balance at the Defence sector, which is the starting point for achieving the objectives of the Gender Equality Strategy collaborated by the Ministry of Defence.

In the framework of the collaboration between the Ministry of Defence of Georgia and the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), the second part of the training will be held on 30th and 31st of October.
