Defence Minister Congratulated Veterans on Victory Day

70 years passed after the victory over fascism. President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Defence Minister Tinatin Khidasheli and Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze congratulated the veterans of the World War II on the Victory Day.

Prime Minister and Defence Minister addressed the veterans gathered in Vake Park and outlined their merit.

Tinatin Khidasheli pledged the veterans support. She highlighted importance of peace all over the world and focused on provision of peace as one of the priorities of the Government of Georgia. “May 9 is a very important day for me. Fight against fascism, fight against extremism is the same priority for the international community now as it was several decades ago. War is the greatest mistake that states could make. This day reminds us that each state should do its best to provide peace all over the world. In the 21st century all states should resolve any kind of conflicts in peaceful way”, outlined Tinatin Khidasheli.

Later on Defence Minister and other members of the government talks with the veterans in Vake Park.

 The solemn event continued with concert and exhibition.
