22 Anniversary of National Defence Academy

Today, has passed 22 years passed since the establishment of Davit Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia. The military institution celebrated its anniversary in a solemn environment.

The moment of silence was observed in memory of the fallen military servicemen, who sacrificed their lives for fighting the Georgia`s territorial integrity and in international missions. The military orchestra performed the state anthem. The Metropolite of Gori and Atenti Farther Andria blessed the Junkers and Career Schools listeners.

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Minister of Defence Tinatin Khidasheli and Chief of the General Staff of the GAF Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze congratulated the Junkers and Listeners of the Career Schools on the NDA anniversary. In his address the Supreme Commander-in-Chief highlighted the role of the institution and the significance of educated army. Minister and Chief of the GS also focused on the importance of education of military servicemen.

The solemn event continued with an awarding ceremony. Defence Minister and Chief of General Staff granted the NDA personnel with service medals.

Today, in the conference hall of the Academy, Command and Staff School held a graduation ceremony. Supreme Commander-in-Chief awarded 29 course graduates with the diplomas and badges.

The solemn celebrations ended by signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the President and the NDA. From today, the President`s administration and the higher military institution will carry out joint initiatives including fellowship and short-term educational programs.
