Training Gender Mainstreaming in Defence Sector

In the framework of the project “Empowered Women for Peace and Development” was held the three day training “Gender Mainstreaming in Defence Sector” for the National Defence Academy personnel. The training was organized by the Women’s Information Centre.

During the seminar the trainer of Women’s Information Centre, Mr. Mamuka Gachechiladze and the Expert in Gender Issues, Ms. Lela Khomeriki discussed the Gender Equality, Policy and Mainstreaming. The also reviewed the Gender Roles and Stereotypes.

Head of the Centre, Ms. Elene Rusetskaia talked to the NDA personnel regarding the UN Security Council resolution №1325 and Violence against Women. The Head of Administration of NDA, Ms. Maia Avaliani introduced to the participants the activities carried out by the Ministry of Defence and the National Defence Academy in terms of Gender Equality.
