In the framework of National Action Plan, Junkers of the Bachelor School and attendees of the Career School are permanently given trainings on gender equality Principles.
From the academic year 2015-2016, a module addressing to the gender equality issues was incorporated into the curriculum of the Bachelor school. Therefore, there was a need for the development of a handbook which could cover above-mentioned issues. Notably, with the support of UN Women, the handbook is already prepared.
Based on the handbook, the Junkers were given a training course by Mrs. Maia Avaliani, the head of the Administration of NDA and Mr. Giorgi Amanatidze, the head of the International Law Division of MoD, where presenters briefly overviewed the main concepts of gender equality, gender roles, sexual stereotypes and sexual violence in armed conflicts. During the seminar, presenters also discussed the gender policy of MoD, international norms and the convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women.
