Tribute paid to Junkers Memory

Memorial of Junkers who had fallen in fight for independence of Georgia was decorated with wreath. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Veterans Affairs Department of Defence Ministry, military servicemen and Cadets Military Lyceum and National Defence Academy students.

At the ceremony Defence Ministry’s orchestra performed the National Anthem, after which the attending public paid tribute to the cadets` remembrance by holding a minute of silence. “Today we have assembled here in order to show our respect to the memory of cadets sacrificing their lives to Georgia`s independence in February of 1921. Their heroic deeds encourage us to serve our country more devotedly”, said cadet Zurab Bakradze.
