Main functions

The functions of the Center are as follows:

a) Coordinate scientific research activities and oversee the work of relevant departments within the main educational units that fall under the Center's jurisdiction.

b) Administer and support scientific research grant projects submitted to, ongoing, or completed on behalf of the Academy within the Center's scope of competence.

c) Facilitate relationships with scientific foundations and donor organizations.

d) Manage relations with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the National Science Foundation, the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, and the Defense Forces within the Center's competence.

e) Provide consulting services to the Academy’s personnel to help them secure scientific funding, prepare grant projects, and manage ongoing projects.

f) Prepare recommendations for the Academy's governing bodies regarding the distribution of funds allocated for scientific research in the Academy's budget.

g) Support and coordinate scientific and research activities developed in collaboration with Georgian and foreign universities and non-university research centers.

h) Request any information related to scientific and research activities from the Academy's structural units, including details on scientific business trips funded by the Academy's budget and ongoing grant projects.

i) Submit an annual report on the Center's activities to the Rector of the Academy.

j) Consult with and assist the Academy's personnel, Junkers, and students in:

   - Identifying sources of funding for scientific and research activities.

   - Establishing contacts with Georgian and international organizations, as well as state and private entities.

   - Preparing and reviewing grant applications and budgets.

   - Conducting negotiations with donors and partner organizations, preparing, reviewing, and ensuring the correct submission of reports to those entities.

   - Analyzing existing needs and problems and identifying potential solutions.

 

k) Analyze ongoing scientific research activities at the Academy and prepare an annual scientific report based on information provided by the structural units conducting scientific work.
