About the Course

The course "Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Insurgency" is NATO's "Selected" Course. The course is listed in the NATO Education and Training Opportunities Catalogue (ETOC Code: CTM-CT-37187). And is registered in the Partnership Real-Time Information, Management and Exchange System (ePRIME).

 

Aim of the Course

The course aims to provide participants with theoretical knowledge and strengthen practical skills to successfully deal with the large-scale nature of the threats posed by terrorism and insurgent's movements.

The course also aims to introduce students to effective counterterrorism and counterinsurgency strategies which is based on the rule of law, human rights, and modern innovative strategies.

 

General description of the course

This course is designed for mid-level to advanced professionals involved in counter-terrorism efforts, including law enforcement and security personnel, military and intelligence officers, government policymakers, private sector security professionals, and academic researchers. Participants should have foundational experience in national security, law enforcement, or related fields and seek to enhance their expertise in strategic, tactical, and analytical aspects of counter-terrorism.

Course Requirements:

Attendees of the course must meet one of the following condition/conditions:

Must serve in a relevant unit with military intelligence or security functions;

Must serve in a special operations unit whose goals include combating terrorism and conducting counter-terrorism operations;

Must serve in brigade headquarter, general staff, Ministries of Defense, interior and foreign affairs, security and intelligence services.

Must serve in one of the state agencies implementing counter-terrorism policy;

Must work/serve in the brigade headquarters, the General Staff, the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Justice and Foreign Affairs, security and intelligence services, the Prosecutor's Office, and agencies involved in counter-terrorism activities in relevant areas.

The civilian must work and have at least 2 years of professional experience in the brigade headquarters, general headquarters, the Ministries of Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs, security and intelligence services, counter-terrorism agencies, the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor's Office, as well as in educational/scientific institutions of defense, interior, security and intelligence in relevant areas.

 

Rank Level:

The course is designed for military personnel (OF-2, OF-3, OF-4, OF-5, OR-6, OR-7, OR-9) as well as civilian law enforcement, security/intelligence officers, academics, and experts.
