Today U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Richard Norland has visited Davit Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy. Richard Norland held meetings with Deputy Defence Minister Tamar Karosanidze and the leadership of the Academy. NDA Commandant LTC Nikoloz Agladze delivered the presentation for U.S. Ambassador on the structure of the military educational institution, its curriculum and programs.
After the meeting, Richard Norland delivered a speech to the students of NDA and spoke about the assistance the American side provides to the Academy, international security and the importance of the ISAF mission. “I am extremely impressed by this facility, by the quality of the leadership and the staff, by the quality of the cadets. I think every country understands that having a solid foundation of professional military education is a center to develop an officers’ corpse that can not only to fight the country’s wars but ultimately lead to more peaceful and stable world. We’ve been pleased to participate both with infrastructure support, IT support – computers, English language training and instructors. Retired military instructors, who are here, are helping to train Georgian cadets. I think we are pleased to join other NATO allies of other countries playing the similar work. It’s extremely important for Georgia’s own self-defence capabilities and also for the contribution Georgia makes to global efforts to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan”, declared U.S. Ambassador to Georgia.
Richard Norland also took a tour around the Academy and got acquainted with the infrastructure of the military educational institution.
