New Year Celebration at the Academy
The Academy celebrated the New Year’s Eve.
The New Year’s Eve party was opened with an internal championship of the Academy in the intellectual game “What? Where? When?” During the day, the Rector of the Academy, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze hosted the wounded military servicemen and handed over New Year presents. New Year gifts were also given to the personnel of the household service and maintenance service group.
In the afternoon there was a New Year's concert at the Academy. The Rector opened the event with a welcoming speech, thanked the military personnel and civilian staff of the Academy for their service throughout the year and wished them Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Along with the chain of command, the Rector awarded the diplomas to the Junkers and students who won various events.
Singers Giorgi and Pavle Chitauri and the Gori Boys Ensemble, as invited guests, took part in the New Year concert together with the Junkers of the Training Battalion of the Academy. The music band of the Academy performed New Year compositions.
The event was followed by the lighting of a Christmas tree and fireworks.
