A Georgian language classroom named after Iakob Gogebashvili was established in David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia. The Rector of the Academy, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze, opened the classroom together with representatives of ethnic minorities, Armenian and Azerbaijani Junkers.
The ceremony was attended by the leaders of the Academy, employees, and the Junkers of the Georgian Language Training Program. The program is designed for representatives of ethnic minorities to study the Georgian language for a year. Upon passing the Georgian language exam, they can become the Junkers of the bachelor programs of the Academy.
In the classroom, you can find photographs of the Georgian writer Iakob Gogebashvili, along with some excerpts from his correspondence and his book "Mother Language". General Mamia Balakhadze congratulated the Junkers on the opening of the classroom and wished them success in their studies. He expressed his hope that the students would be able to learn the Georgian language and embrace Georgian national values with the help of their teachers. The Junkers were grateful for the support and attention and thanked the Academy and the Rector.
