The Junkers who graduated from the Basic Combat Training course of the Training Battalion of the David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia traditionally take the military oath on the historic field of Didgori. This tradition was established by the Rector and senior officials of the Academy. The military oath-taking ceremony is symbolically linked to the historic victory of King David IV, known as David the Builder, after whom the National Defence Academy is named.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Academy, as well as the family members and relatives of the Junkers.
After enrolling in the National Defence Academy, the Junkers completed a five-week Basic Combat Training course. During the theoretical component, they learned about disciplinary regulations and received training in engineering and basic medical skills. In the practical segment, they studied weapon usage, shooting techniques, and safety protocols. Throughout the Basic Combat Training course, the Junkers had to adapt to challenging physical and psychological conditions. Following this training, they will continue their studies at the Academy in bachelor's degree programs.
At the conclusion of the oath-taking ceremony, the distinguished graduates were awarded honorary certificates, and the Academy chaplain offered a blessing for the graduates.
