A Memorandum of Cooperation

A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia and the State Service for Veterans Affairs.

On July 3 of this year, the Commander of the David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze, alongside the Academy’s leadership and representatives of the Scientific Research Centre, visited the State Service for Veterans' Affairs. The delegation was hosted by the Director of the State Service for Veterans' Affairs, Major General Koba Kobaladze, together with his deputies and retired generals.

The meeting was opened with welcoming remarks by the Commander of the Academy, Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze. In his address, General Balakhadze emphasized the involvement of experienced military personnel in research projects and highlighted the prospects for future cooperation with the State Service for Veterans Affairs.

The Head of the Scientific Research Centre of the National Defence Academy, Colonel Giorgi Laghiashvili, delivered a presentation titled: "New Requirements for Ensuring Georgia's Military Security, Considering the Dynamics of 21st-Century Local Conflicts.

Major General Koba Kobaladze delivered a presentation on the topic “The General Nature of the Modern Battlespace.” The presentations were followed by a discussion.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia and the State Service for Veterans Affairs. The memorandum was signed by Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze and Major General Koba Kobaladze.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to promote the involvement of war and Defence Forces veterans, as well as their family members, and representatives of the Academy, including Junkers and students, in educational, scientific, cultural, social, and awareness-raising activities, as well as to facilitate the planning and implementation of joint initiatives in support of these objectives.
