In the framework of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) Training Programme, by the leadership of the Swedish Consulting Company (Indevelop.) and Women to Women (Kvinna till Kvinna), the representatives of Georgia, South Sudan, Columbia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Liberia visited NDA.
Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) Training Programme – UN Security Council Resolution 1325: Women, Peace and Security is a 5 weeks programme, which is divided into two parts. First part is dedicated to increasing the women’s participation in the peace accords; second part includes increasing the recognition of the special needs of women in conflict and post-conflict societies.
In the framework of the study visit, NDA Acting Commandant Lieutenant-Colonel, Vasil Kopeikini introduced to the programme members the history of NDA. Head of the International Law Division of the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Giorgi Amanatidze discussed the reforms carried out in the Defence sector regarding the gender equality. Head of NDA Administration, Ms. Maia Avaliani talked about the integration of the training – Gender Equality Principals and UN Security Council Resolution 1325: Woman, Peace and Security to the NDA Bachelor School curriculum.
