Representatives of NGOs at the National Defence Academy

Today the representatives of NGOs visited Davit Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy. Rector of the Defence Academy, Col. Irakli Gegechkori hosted the members of the civil sector.

Col. Irakli Gegechkori briefed the guests about the history of the educational institution, structure, functions, existing schools, educational programs and international relations. He introduced the future plans of the Defence Academy to the members of the NGOs. The presentation was followed by the question and answer session. Leadership of the Defence Academy took recommendations from the civil sector and the sides agreed to continue cooperation in the future.

Representatives of NGOs took a tour around the campus and viewed the material-technical base and infrastructure. They also visited the museum where the equipment of the military servicemen fallen in the war in August 2008 are exhibited. 
Transparency is one of the priorities of the Defence Ministry. For this purpose cooperation with the civil sector envisages regular working meetings with the thematic groups.

Active cooperation with the NGO sector assists to effective defence transformation process and successful implementation of reforms.
