Awarding of Command and General Staff School Graduates

Minister of Defence of Georgia Irakli Alasania has awarded successful military servicemen of Command and General Staff School of National Defence Academy. First Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of GAF Brigadier-General Vakhtang Kapanadze delivered a speech to the 28 graduates of officers’ higher military career institution. Deputy Director of Plans, Policy and Strategy of the United States European Command, Rear Admiral Mark Montgomery, Chief of the Joint Staff of GAF Brigadier General Giorgi Kalandadze and Rector of the National Defence Academy Giorgi Kvelidze awarded the military servicemen. Diplomatic Corps accredited to Georgia also attended the solemn ceremony.

The ten-month course of Command and General Staff School included modules in training, planning and combat preparation, defence and security, wars and military art. In order to carry our full spectrum operations the military servicemen were mastered in the leadership skills on battalion, brigade and operational units level in armed, united, inter-departmental, multi-national and non-conventional operational environment. The course included theoretical and practical stages.

Command and General Staff School was established in 2009. For making further military career, GAF`s senior officers are required to undergo officers’ high military career courses.
