Tribute paid to Junkers Memory

Memorial of Junkers who had fallen in fight for independence of Georgia was decorated with wreath. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Veterans Affairs Department of Defence Ministry, military servicemen and Cadets Military Lyceum and National Defence Academy students.

The United States Delegation visits Georgia

Celeste A. Wallander, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia is paying an official visit to Georgia. An American official met with the Georgian president Mikheil Saakasvili. The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Bacho Akhalaia. During the meeting the sides discussed the issues of mutual relations of the US and Georgia and discussed prospects of deepening cooperation.

NATO Corner opened at the National Defence Academy

A NATO Corner has been opened at the Davit Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister Giorgi Baramidze, representatives from the Information Center on NATO and Academy students. The Center employees donated the new literature on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to the Academy library.

Afghan official in the National Defence Academy

Abdul Ali Shamsi, Principal Security Advisor to Helmand Provincial Governor is paying an official visit to Georgia.  The Afghan official has come to the Davit Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy and met with military servants and Academy attendees. Abdul Ali Shamsi extended his gratitude to the Georgian military for their contribution to the security of the region. He stressed the importance of Georgia’s participation in the ISAF mission and briefed about the situation in Helmand.
